I teach preschool for a living at I love it. I am passionate about hands on learning experiences and I feel that children learn best when they are moving, thinking, and having fun. As I was working one day on lesson plans for preschool, I thought of how fun it would be to have a similar curriculum for teaching the scriptures. I wanted to create something fun and interactive that would help kids really come to love the scriptures. I also wanted to create activities for scripture reading time so that we could start making personal, daily scripture reading a habit at a young age (because habits start young!) This is my goal as I create my scripture power kids curriculum. I want to help children learn the scriptures in a fun way while creating a daily scripture study habit. I am excited to share this project with anyone and everyone!
I am starting with the Book of Mormon and I will try to post a lesson a day. Each lesson is designed to be 15-20 minutes long and will cover various verses in the scriptures. They are also designed to be adjusted for older or younger kids easily. Once I finish the Book of Mormon I will go on to do other scriptures as well.
